Signs You Are in Need of Hormone Replacement Therapy

As we get older, we expect there to be some changes in our health. We know that as we get older we are not going to have the same capabilities that we did in youth. However, there are certain changes that go beyond the normal aging process. There are also certain changes that people readily connect to aging and see has normal, but they are anything but normal. Some of the symptoms could be signs that you are in need of hormone replacement therapy.

How can you know if hormone replacement therapy is right for you? There are a number of signs you may want to be on the lookout for. For example, you may be a good candidate for this treatment if you are having problems sleeping, feel a reduction of muscle strength, are battling with fatigue, and feel like you don’t have enough energy during the day. Hormone treatments have been able to help some individuals regain their energy, increase their muscle strength, make it easier for them to lose weight, and restore their mental clarity.

Many women begin to experience hormonal imbalances as they near menopause. As their body produces less estrogen, they may be at risk for things like colon cancer, ovary failure, osteoporosis, diabetes, and other serious health issues. Some signs that a woman may be a good candidate for this treatment would include exhaustion, weight gain, thinning hair, a reduction of mental clarity, vaginal dryness, anxiety or depression, muscle pain, and decreased muscle strength.

Although men do not have a clearly marked transition point in life, such as menopause, once a man hits 30, he does start to lose testosterone. Some signs that hormone replacement therapy may be right for a man may include things like fatigue, difficulty achieving or sustaining erections, loss of libido, dry skin, loss of muscle mass, and feeling sluggish or irritable.

It’s important to remember that for an individual who has healthy hormone levels, this therapy is not going to be beneficial. It is designed for individuals with hormone levels that have dropped lower than what is expected in an individual of their age. Bioidentical hormones are designed to replicate the hormones that naturally exist in a person’s body. The goal is to help an individual who is struggling with a hormone deficiency to improve the quality of their life.

Do you feel like you are experiencing signs of a hormone imbalance? If so, hormone replacement therapy at The Guyer Institute of Molecular Medicine may be able to help. We are conveniently located in Indianapolis, IN. Contact us today to schedule your consultation!
