The stem cell therapy procedure starts by collecting the growth factors and adult stem cells from multiple sources within the body. Adipose stem cells are most commonly harvested from the lower abdomen. This enables the harvesting of a large quantity of cells. We use a liposuction method to extract the fat cells, which are then spun in a centrifuge, separating the fat from the stem cells.
Stem cell therapy only uses adult stem cells to help ensure the body is able to heal naturally, but at The Guyer Institute of Molecular Medicine, we also add PRP to the treatment. The procedure is both effective and safe. The process takes roughly 50 minutes. We use local anesthetic to keep you comfortable throughout the process.
Stem Cell Therapy with PRP
The PRP is collected from the patient during a normal blood draw. The blood is then separated into its components using a centrifuge for processing. This separates the PRP from the plasma. It takes about 15 minutes to add the PRP to the stem cells in order to enrich them.
Depending on the treatment area, we use either an IV drip method to supply the body with stem cells, or an injection method. Advanced skills for image guided injections are necessary for a stem cell injection. This helps ensure the the injection of stem cells is delivered safely, effectively and specifically to the area targeted. The entire stem cell therapy process can be completely within one to three hours. The individual can walk out under their own steam after the procedure.
