Supplements for Cats:

Dr. Guyer is frequently asked by patients how to enhance their feline’s health. Luckily there are many supplement options that are beneficial to cats as well as humans. Be sure to ask your cat’s Vet before beginning any specific supplement regimen.

ProBiotics:  If your cat suffers from a sensitive stomach or has recently been on an antibiotic, a probiotic such as our Eco-Biotic powder may be quite helpful to soothing digestive upset. About 1/8th – ¼ tsp of this powder, sprinkled over the cat’s food one time daily can help bring regulation and balance to the GI tract. As another positive, probiotics have been shown to help enhance immune system function.

Phosphotidyl Choline: Does your cat have elevated liver enzymes?  Recent studies have shown that adding a small amount of phosphotidyl choline to their diet may help reduce liver enzymes. PPC liquid can easily be added to a feline’s food source.

Fish Oil: If you are hoping to improve your cat’s coat quality or reduce systemic inflammation, adding a few drops of liquid fish oil to their daily diet may be a great choice. Studies have demonstrated that incorporating a daily source of EPA/DHA to a diet helps reduce inflammation.

MSM/HA/Glucosamine:  As felines age many suffer from joint issues such as arthritis. Adding supplements such as MSM, Hyalronic Acid, Glucosamine, and Type 2 Collagen, may help reduce such discomfort.
